Taties
Potatoes are such wondrous things
with very many names.
Praties in old Ireland be
and spuds in all Australia,
taties in the movies are
accompanied by chips.
Couch potatoes slumber life
and wedges follow them
with sour cream and chilli dip
the wedges rule the day.
Baked or mashed or fried or boiled
the taties are delicious -
potatoes filled with butter are
enjoyed by all and sundry.
Your daddy favours baked and crisp
your mummy likes them all.
Your granny likes potato crisps
and poppy has them salad.
Nan and Pa like new the best
and Paddy and Amanda
like mashed with gravy,
lots poured on and lots beside
all mopped up with the bread.
I love the drawings. Does Richard do them?
